What you need to see it

Sun lounger and warm clothes (essential). You watch with the naked eye for hours: comfort matters more than optics.
Red-light torch (recommended). Preserves your dark adaptation.
Camera with a wide-angle lens (optional). Increases your chances of capturing meteors.

Where to see it best

What matters most here is how dark the sky is, and we don't have a reliable point-by-point measurement yet. That is why we don't rank towns: a big city would score as well as a dark remote spot. Use the night lights layer to get away from light pollution.
