Check whether the Sun, the Moon and the corona fit in your frame before you travel. A rough calculation using thin-lens optics.
Tips for this event
- Use a fast wide-angle lens and shoot continuously for hours.
- Aim at a dark part of the sky, not necessarily at the radiant.
- The Moon and light pollution decide the night more than your gear does.
Field of view
0.53° disc to scale. The halo marks 3 solar diameters: it is a framing guide for the corona, not its real shape.
